Position Summary
The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of battery recycling equipment and related operations machinery. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting continuous production while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance – Adhere to OSHA standards and internal safety protocols; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.[MP1]
Routine Equipment & Facility Maintenance – Inspect, perform preventive maintenance, and repair shredders, sorting machines, and facility systems per company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Troubleshooting & Repairs – Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; implement timely solutions to minimize downtime.
Documentation – Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, repair records, and parts inventory.
Maintenance Planning – Assess spare parts, tools, and consumables needs; develop budgets and schedules.
Operational Coordination – Work with operations teams to schedule maintenance with minimal production disruption.
Equipment Installation & Training – Assist with installations, upgrades, and modifications, train operators on basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Continuous Improvement – Participate in root‑cause analysis; recommend and implement reliability improvements.

Qualifications
High‑school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Minimum 3 years industrial equipment maintenance, preferably with shredders, sorters, or similar heavy machinery.
NFPA 70 (NEC) training or certification; familiarity with 480 V motors; comfortable using multimeter, megger, etc.
Maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; proficiency with hand tools, torque wrenches, impact wrenches, angular grinders, etc.
Arc flash prevention training; LOTO, OSHA (30 or 40hour) certification preferred.
Ability to read and follow detailed technical instructions, manuals, and diagrams.
Basic math for measurements and calibrations; strong troubleshooting skills

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.

Work Environment
Manufacturing and industrial recycling environment with moving equipment and mechanical processes. Employees must follow all safety requirements including PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and respirators when required.
