Senior Compensation Manager Overview:
The Senior Manager, Compensation leads a high-performing team responsible for the design, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise compensation programs that drive business strategy and talent outcomes. This role serves as the organization’s Workday Compensation owner, overseeing configuration, releases, testing, and end-to-end process optimization. The role partners closely with HR, HR Technology, Finance, and business leaders to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, operational excellence, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Compensation team.
Serve as a strategic advisor and Compensation Center of Excellence leader, providing guidance to senior leaders, HR partners, and stakeholders.
Deliver data-driven insights and compelling storytelling to inform executive decision-making.
Own base pay architecture, variable pay programs, and compensation planning governance.
Design and maintain salary structures, premium programs, and short-term incentive plans aligned with business strategy.
Lead market benchmarking, job leveling, and pay equity analyses to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
Maintain compensation policies, ensure job architecture alignment, and oversee regulatory compliance.
Partner with Finance and HR Business Partners to develop KPIs and workforce analytics.
Act as Workday Compensation product owner, including configuration, release management, regression testing, and data security governance.
Drive user experience enhancements and process improvements for both annual and off-cycle compensation activities.
Develop and maintain dashboards, audits, and reports within Workday.
Lead annual compensation cycles, including merit increases, bonuses, promotions, and communications.
Govern off-cycle compensation actions to ensure consistency, equity, and audit readiness.
Manage external market data sources and benchmarking relationships.
Oversee compensation systems, reporting tools, vendor relationships, and licensing to ensure data quality, cost efficiency, and compliance.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
8–10+ years of experience in Compensation, HR, Finance, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated expertise in Workday Compensation configuration and administration.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Experience with global compensation programs preferred.
Experience conducting pay equity analyses and supporting large-scale compensation initiatives preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to develop others in compensation theory and practice.
Ability to travel up to 5% (domestic and international).
