Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Apartment Building Maintenance Technician to service over 400 units across various buildings in Boston, MA. This position requires mobility between buildings and involves performing maintenance tasks to ensure the well‑being and safety of the facilities. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM.
Responsibilities
Repair and install doors and locksets.
Strip, buff, and reseal/stain hardwood floors.
Replace tub/shower surrounds and enclosures.
Caulk / re‑grout tub tiles.
Install ceramic tile and VCT flooring.
Repair/replace damaged walls: hang sheetrock, tape, plaster, sand.
Paint unit walls/trim and common areas.
Repair, refinish, and replace kitchen cabinets.
Replace stoves and range hoods.
Move furniture, appliances, etc., with appropriate assistance.
Essential Skills
Experience in general building maintenance, cleaning, and repair methods.
Knowledge of safe work methods.
Ability to lift and move at least 75 pounds.
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Own transportation and valid driver's license with a good record.
Ability to read and write English.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a diverse team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with troubleshooting, mechanical, and preventive maintenance.
Skills in pneumatics, electrical, repair, and service.
Proficiency in HVAC, maintenance repair, carpentry, drywall, and blueprint reading.
Comfortable working with diverse populations, including those with chronic conditions.
