Shipping Coordinator
is responsible for coordinating daily shipping and outside services processing (OSS) activities to ensure the timely and accurate movement of material from production to the customer. This role develops and manages shipment schedules based on Production Control priorities, coordinates transportation and dock activity and tracks material flow to and from external processing vendors. The Shipping Coordinator serves as a key communication link between Production Control, Shipping and operations. This role proactively identifies and resolves issues to maintain schedule adherence and support efficient, on-time delivery performance.
The Shipping Coordinator should have 2+ years of shipping coordination experience
Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably in shipping, logistics or production support
Working knowledge of ERP systems (Odyssey or similar) for order tracking and shipment processing
Strong organizational and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly to changing schedules
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in documentation and transactions
Problem solving mindset with the ability to identify and escape issues proactively
Coordinate daily shipping activities in alignment with Production Control priorities to ensure on-time and accurate shipments
Develop and maintain shipment schedules, including truck scheduling, dock activity and load planning
Track and manage OSS (Outside Service Processing) movement including outbound shipments to vendors and inbound returns to ensure material availability
Communicate with Production Control and Shipping & OSS Supervisor regarding shipment status, delays and material readiness
Identify and escalat material shortages, delays or discrepancies that may impact shipment timing or customer commitments
Ensure accuracy of shipping documentation and system transactions, including packing lists, bills of lading and system updates
Coordinate with carriers and transportation providers to schedule pickups, manage changes and resolve logistics issues
Support staging and prioritization of finished goods to align with shipment schedules and minimize handling delays
Assist in continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies in shipping and OSS processes and recommending solutions
