Job Description
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Under the direction and supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Transportation Services, the Summer School Bus Driver performs intermediate semi‑skilled support work in the transportation of students to and from summer school.
Qualifications
Possess a Commercial Driver’s License with Class B endorsement
General knowledge of city traffic rules and regulations
Ability to operate buses and related equipment safely and efficiently
Ability to remain alert and calm during periods of stress
Ability to keep simple records and make reports
Ability to establish effective relationships with riders, children, departmental officials and employees, and the general public
Terms of Employment
June 29 – July 23, 2026
No personal benefits or leave programs (i.e., personal leave, sick leave) are available to summer school employees.
Employment will be contingent on summer school student enrollment.
Position Type:
Part‑Time
Salary:
up to $30 per hour
