Job Description: Product Costing Manager
The Product Costing Manager serves as the strategic and functional leader for SAP S/4HANA Product Costing across the organization. This role provides deep expertise in costing processes while driving end-to-end solution design, implementation, and continuous improvement. Acting as a trusted advisor to finance, operations, and IT partners, the manager enhances cost transparency, operational efficiency, and financial reporting capabilities across client’s global footprint. This person will be an individual contributor to the company.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of SAP S/4HANA Product Costing (CO-PC), including standard cost planning, Material Ledger, cost component structures, variance analysis, Margin Analysis (CO-PA), and cost center accounting.

Manage cost center planning, activity type planning, overhead costing, allocations, and budgeting processes integrated with SAP S/4HANA.

Ensure strong integration between Controlling and related modules (FI, MM, PP, SD) to drive accurate cost flows, aligned processes, and reliable financial outcomes.

Oversee month-end, year-end, and daily costing activities such as cost allocations, assessments, project settlements, cost rollups, inventory valuation, cost estimates, and Material Ledger accuracy across multiple plants and company codes.

Serve as the subject matter expert and escalation point for CO-PC and CO-PA, identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and process efficiency.

Conduct FIT/GAP analysis, develop functional specs, support RICEFW development, execute testing phases, and lead cutover/go-live activities across transformation and enhancement initiatives.

Partner with business stakeholders to convert requirements into scalable technical solutions and contribute to broader S/4HANA transformation programs, upgrades, and roadmap planning.

Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality System policies to ensure product, patient, and employee safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

10+ years of SAP experience with deep expertise in Product Costing (CO-PC) and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).

Experience in complex, global S/4HANA environments with strong knowledge of CO and its integration with FI/MM/PP.

Deep understanding of cost flows, costing variants, overhead structures, and inventory valuation.

Background in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, automotive, or consumer goods industries preferred.

Proven experience delivering global costing solutions within matrixed organizations.
