
Math Teacher

Job Summary
This position is responsible for planning and developing course outlines, presenting the course material to students, and evaluating the students’ progress. This person should also facilitate a positive learning environment, participate as a member of the school team, build and support the school mission and strive to maintain communication links with other agency programs and staff.
What You’ll Do
Identify, acquire, or create appropriate learning resources and develop lesson plans.
Teach classes as designated individually or as part of a team.
Vary learning materials and presentation to fit needs of students.
Develop communication with students and parents.
Participate in team effectiveness and registration process.
Adhere and enforce school’s standards of behavior on a consistent basis.
Develop and implement appropriate structure, policies, and procedures.
Establish and implement appropriate social/extra curricula activities.
What You Bring
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in secondary education or equivalent
State of Minnesota Teaching License in secondary mathematics required.
Training and experience in alternative school setting preferred
Training and experience in behavior modification techniques and class management preferred
Training and experience with computers preferred
Experience working with diverse at‑risk youth population
Training and experience in team teaching
Training and experience in assessments and testing
Training and experience with school‑to‑career programs preferred
Proficient in a second language (other than English) preferred
