About Moldtronics

Founded in 1955, Moldtronics is a privately held contract manufacturer in Downers Grove, IL. We're ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified, and we produce precision components for aerospace, medical, defense, and commercial industries, all under one roof. Quality isn't a department here. It's everyone's job.
What You'll Actually Be Doing

This role is not for everyone, and that's intentional.
You’ll spend your shift working with extremely small, high-precision plastic components. We’re talking parts measured in millimeters, trimmed and inspected using tweezers, micro-picks, and fine-tip hand tools. You'll use magnification equipment and microscopes to catch defects the naked eye would miss.
The work is repetitive by design. Every part needs to meet tight aerospace and medical-grade tolerances. A steady hand, sharp eyes, and a genuine comfort with focused, detail-driven work aren't nice-to-haves here. They’re the job.
If you thrive when you’re locked in on something precise, this will feel like a great fit. If repetitive detail work wears you down, it probably won’t.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Operate injection molding machines to produce small, tight-tolerance components
Trim and de-gate parts using tweezers, micro-picks, and fine-tip hand tools
Inspect components under magnification and microscopy for defects and irregularities
Maintain consistent output while hitting strict quality standards every cycle
Document defects, production counts, and quality data accurately
Package finished components to exact specification
What We're Looking For

Genuine comfort with fine motor work. You've done it before and you're good at it.
Strong hand-eye coordination, especially with very small objects
The kind of focus that holds up over an 8-hour shift, not just the first hour
Ability to maintain a steady, consistent pace in a production setting
Basic math (addition and subtraction)
Reliable, positive, and willing to learn
Requirements

18 years of age or older
Must pass a background check
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder)
Work Environment

Clean, organized production floor
Primarily standing throughout the shift
Frequent precision hand work with small components
Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs
Close vision required. You'll be working under magnification regularly.
