Senior USV Logistician
to support our Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) Team at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in
Norfolk, VA.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory & Supply Management: Maintain accountable inventories for Small USV parts, consumables, support equipment, and mission kits; perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Execute requisitioning and replenishment; track orders, lead times, backorders, and delivery performance to sustain readiness posture.
Manage receiving, storage, issue/turn‑in, shelf‑life controls, and logistics documentation (receipts, packing lists, shipping papers); provide logistics status to leadership and planners.
Logistics & Transportation: Plan and execute distribution via commercial and military channels; maintain shipment visibility and resolve discrepancies/claims.
Coordinate regulated shipments, including HAZMAT, and vendor‑facilitated movements (including USMI), ensuring compliant packaging, marking/labeling, segregation, and documentation.
Plan and manage CONEX shipments (container build plans, consolidation, blocking/bracing coordination, delivery/return tracking).
PHS&T Planning (including Airload Plans): Develop and execute PHS&T plans; define preservation/packaging requirements and develop air shipment documentation and airload plans (load configuration, weights/dimensions, tie‑down/shoring considerations) to meet mode‑specific constraints and timelines.
Required Qualifications
Senior‑level logistics experience supporting maritime systems, small craft, unmanned systems, or comparable operational platforms.
Demonstrated inventory accountability and sustainment planning experience (requisitioning/replenishment, receiving/issuing, readiness spares posture).
Transportation planning and execution experience, including shipment documentation, tracking/visibility, and coordination with carriers, government transportation offices, and vendors.
PHS&T planning experience, including preservation/packaging requirements and the ability to develop/coordinate air movement documentation and airload plan inputs.
Experience with regulated shipments, including hazardous materials (HAZMAT), and associated compliance requirements.
Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination skills; able to brief logistics status, risks, and readiness impacts.
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting Navy unmanned surface operations and/or expeditionary maritime logistics.
Experience with deployment/redeployment cargo staging and movement control in support of operational timelines.
Familiarity with containerization and CONEX build planning, and vendor/OEM shipment coordination (tracking and claims resolution).
