Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Romeoville, Illinois — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.
Compensation & Schedule
Hourly Pay: $23.00 per hour
Additional Pay: $0.75 per hour for shift premium
Schedule: Sunday - Tuesday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Wednesday 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Responsibilities
Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
Operate stand‑up forklifts to transfer paper products and everyday essentials.
Responsible for accurately picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
Handle day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours of production.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to work within a diverse work environment and create professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
Highly thorough and dependable.
Must be punctual with a good attendance record.
Works independently with minimal supervision and possesses high initiative.
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
May lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.
Works using health and safety methods and is available for a flexible schedule on various shifts.
Attention to detail and excellent follow‑up practices.
