Description of the Position
In general, every McMenamins Catering Cook will be asked to produce food for catered events. Duties include, but are not limited to; reading contracts, ensuring food gets to the event by the established deadline, following the established food portioning guidelines, manufacture and presentation of all catered food which includes cold trays, cold & hot sauces, hors d’oeuvre trays, meat & seafood, pasta, small amounts of baking, and food production for special events such as specialty dinners as well as holidays and property-wide events. Each Catering Cook is responsible for the organization and cleaning of their work area including dishwashing as needed. Being a catering cook can be hard physical work and takes the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. A catering cook must also have the ability to work well independently and as a member of a team. Each employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to management.
