Job Summary

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: $44,292.82 – $57,197.14 per year (paid hourly)

Responsibilities

Perform various manual labor tasks in support of skilled tradesmen and craftsmen such as carpenters, plumbers, and masons.

Assist in the installation of drainage, sewer, and water pipelines, conduits, and related structures.

Dig trenches, excavate, refill and grade earth, gravel, and other materials using pick and shovel.

Set and repair curbing; patch broken or eroded pavement by applying paving materials such as mortar, concrete, or cement.

Install and maintain signs, including regulatory, historic, and informational signs.

Plant, transplant, prune, trim, fertilize trees, flowers, and shrubs; seed lawns and gardens; spray for insects and plant diseases.

Load and unload trucks, unpack and store supplies, and conduct inventory of supplies and equipment.

Operate handheld power tools, tapping machines, and rodding machines.

Operate motor vehicles, including light vehicles and trucks, as required by assigned unit activities.

Perform related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Flexibility to work odd hours, overtime opportunities, and holidays when needed.

Required Qualifications

At least six months of full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience performing manual labor in general construction or maintenance work.

Salary range is determined by factors such as experience, seniority, and the nature of the role (short‑term contract vs. full‑time position). For union positions, salary is determined in accordance with the applicable bargaining unit's salary schedule.
