Special Education Teacher - TAG endorsement
Eastern Allamakee Community School District is seeking a dedicated and student‑centered Special Education Teacher with a Talented and Gifted (TAG) endorsement (or possibility to obtain) to join our team. This unique role supports a diverse range of learners in a small, close‑knit rural school environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative, and passionate about meeting the academic and social‑emotional needs of all students.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
Provide direct instruction and support in inclusive and pull‑out settings
Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure student success
Support and enrich advanced learners through TAG programming and differentiation
Use data to inform instruction and track student progress
Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Communicate regularly with families, staff, and administration
Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives
Serve as a positive and active member of a small school community
Qualifications
Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement required
TAG endorsement preferred (or possibly obtain)
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and individualized learning
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Experience in a rural or small school setting is a plus
