Schedule Details:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Will require supporting all 3 locations which would involve travel.
Pay Range:
$19.80 - $31.20 per hour
Responsibilities
Reviews and documents patient identification, and places armbands on patients arriving for care.
Uses effective communication skills when interacting with patients, visitors, co‑workers, management and physicians; maintains strict patient identifiers when directing information and communications.
Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations, CMS regulation and Medicare/Medicaid regulations as they pertain to the registration process and information flow to the multidisciplinary team and to the public.
Provides continuity in departmental operations.
Refers patients to PFRS (Patient Financial Resource Services) when necessary.
Refers patients to Drug List Techs for update of medications before surgery as needed.
Provides age/developmentally appropriate skills for the specific age groups served when assisting families, patients and visitors.
Assists departmental staff in providing a caring compassionate environment.
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Focus on customer service skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to use WakeOne.
Organized and ability to work as a team member.
Education / Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience in a healthcare setting or as a Unit Secretary preferred.
Licensure / Certification
N/A
Work Environment
Clean, well-lit, comfortable environment. Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Occasional exposure to patient elements. Moderate noise level.
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing. Lifting, carrying, pushing and or pulling up to 100 lbs. maximum.
