Pay Range
$48 – $54 / hour
Job Specific Duties and Competencies
Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission; uses the data to develop individualized care plans and identifies teaching needs.
Collaborates with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team to establish care goals.
Provides timely patient information and status updates for initial team conferences and weekly re‑evaluation conferences; documents all assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately.
Participates in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit; delivers direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, with emphasis on patient/family education.
Initiates discharge planning from day of admission and provides patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
Communicates changes in patient status among care providers, including physicians and charge nurses; seeks consultation from senior staff for complex clinical decisions.
Provides direction, training and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately and employing problem‑solving, decision‑making and prioritization.
Ensures personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
Contributes positively to unit functioning by offering calm direction and participation in team‑building activities.
Maintains communication with manager and senior nursing staff regarding supplies, equipment and training needs; documents care cost‑effectively while promoting quality outcomes.
Assumes charge responsibilities after orientation as requested.
Grows professionally through continuing education and self‑study, prioritizing effective use of time and staff.
Performs other duties as requested.
