
Legal Assistant, Boutique Litigation Firm

A highly regarded, fast-paced boutique litigation firm on the West Side is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its busy and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and is eager to contribute meaningfully to complex business litigation matters. This role offers broad exposure across all phases of litigation, with significant responsibility supporting attorneys in case management, filings, trial preparation, and research. The ideal candidate is tech‑savvy, adaptable, and focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Generate, format, and proofread court pleadings, motions, and legal documents
Prepare document shells, engagement agreements, correspondence, and memoranda
Produce tables of contents and tables of authorities
File documents in state and federal courts (including e‑filing)
Perform Bates numbering and manage document productions
Interface with court staff regarding filings and hearing logistics
Maintain and update case calendars via SharePoint and Clio
Create and organize trial binders and case materials
Retrieve pleadings, motions, and filings from court dockets
Maintain organized case files and support trial preparation
Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and execution
Collaborate with vendors including e‑discovery, trial support, and mediation services
May attend hearings or court appearances with attorneys
Qualifications
ABA Paralegal Certificate required
Bachelor’s Degree required
2–3 years of relevant litigation paralegal experience
Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, and Clio
Strong understanding of court procedures, filings, and litigation lifecycle
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Tech‑savvy, adaptable, and able to stay focused under pressure
