Accounts Payable Specialist
Pay Range: $27-31/hr
This position is on site in Jessup, MD 5 days a week.
We’re looking for an AP Specialist to join our growing team! The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software and Excel, and effective communication skills. We’re looking for someone who is experienced in managing outgoing cash flow, ensuring vendor invoices are accurately verified and paid on time, and handling the full cycle AP process including matching invoices to PO, reconciling discrepancies, recording liabilities in the GL, and maintaining vendor relationships.
What You’ll Do:
Accounts Payable Management
Process and manage accounts payable using accounting software and programs (Equipsoft, Concur)
Sort, code, match, and process invoices accurately
Ensure bills are paid in a timely manner while adhering to departmental procedures
Organize incoming invoices for immediate processing and work with departments to fix discrepancies
Vendor Relations & Issue Resolution
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to resolve payment issues and inquiries
Work closely with operations teams to resolve invoicing questions
Process Improvement & Paperless Implementation
Analyze and improve workflow processes to increase efficiency
Be an integral part of the implementation of a paperless AP process
Reconciliation & Record Keeping
Reconcile and book company credit card transactions
Process annual 1099 submissions
Maintain accurate historical records of all financial transactions
All other responsibilities/duties as assigned
What You Need:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable
AA or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Professional, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality
Strong communication and customer service skills
Extremely organized with excellent time management skills
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods while performing essential duties
