Position Summary
The Finance and Grants Coordinator for the Munroe‑Meyer Institute operates under the direction of the Associate Director of the Business Office and is responsible for overseeing financial operations, personnel administration, and management of MMI‑sponsored contracts and grants. This role provides both pre‑ and post‑award support to principal investigators, collaborates with UNMC Sponsored Programs offices to coordinate grant invoicing and reconciliation, and manages personnel‑related activities for MMI faculty and staff in compliance with UNMC policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Education: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (post‑high‑school education considered for lack of experience).

Experience: Minimum 3 years in a financial or grants administration role, including experience in a medical or academic setting.

Licensure: None required.

Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, SAP, and Microsoft Outlook.

Skills: Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills; ability to work with diverse personalities; exceptional organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to work well under pressure; knowledge of accounting rules and regulations; ability to interpret and apply sponsor, institutional, and departmental policies; ability to manage high volume and complex transactions; independent judgment and strong organization and communication skills with a customer‑service focus; risk assessment and problem‑solving by critically evaluating alternative courses of action; understanding of human resource administration and related regulatory environment; working knowledge of related technological resources/software including enterprise systems and the MS Office suite; understanding of pre‑award budget preparation and related regulations; understanding of post‑award administration including set‑up process, reconciliation, regular review, progress reports, and close‑out process.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree (MBA/MPA) or equivalent.

Experience: Experience with grants management.

Computer Applications: Microsoft Access; People Admin.
