Quality Inspector

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our third shift team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in welding or weld inspection, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to accurately use a tape measure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with welders, supervisors, and quality assurance teams to ensure our products meet high standards of quality and safety.
The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may."
Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections on welds to ensure structural and aesthetic standards.
Interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and job specifications.
Use tape measures and other inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Document inspection results and report non-conformities or defects.
Work with welders and supervisors to address quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in the welding and quality departments.
Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
Position requirements include successfully passing background check, preemployment drug screening, and any preemployment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s). Daily in-person, predictable attendance is required. Ability to read tape measurements is also necessary.
Education/experience level includes a high school diploma or GED equivalent certificate, minimum of 2 years welding or weld inspection experience, and additional welding or quality certifications are a plus. Experience in a manufacturing environment is not required, but highly desirable.
Qualifications, skills, competencies, and abilities include excellent speaking, writing, and listening skills, ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, proficiency with tape measures and standard inspection tools, strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, good people skills and the ability to communicate clearly with team members across shifts, comfort working overnight hours and in a manufacturing environment, strong computer skills, capability of working in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude, and organization and 6S skills.

The Quality Inspector is daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. The Quality Control Inspector must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and 50-100 lbs. with a team lift. Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
