About The Role
We are currently seeking a Programme Manager in Hair and Beauty to join our Hair and Beauty department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Programme Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

Curriculum Leadership & Programme Development – Lead the management, development and growth of a specialist curriculum area, ensuring programmes are high‑quality, industry‑aligned and responsive to employer and community needs.

Teaching, Learning & Assessment Excellence – Oversee and enhance teaching, learning and assessment standards across the programme area, monitoring performance, addressing underachievement and ensuring outstanding student outcomes.

People Management & Staff Development – Manage, support and develop teaching and support staff, ensuring effective induction, CPD, performance management and consistent application of college policies and teaching strategies.

Quality Assurance, Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement – Act as curriculum expert, liaise with awarding bodies, support self‑assessment and quality improvement planning, maintain high standards and represent the department at local and group level.

College‑Wide Duties & Professional Values – Teach a fractional timetable, support college events, uphold safeguarding, EDI and health & safety requirements, and ensure the student experience remains at the heart of all departmental activity.

Qualifications & Experience

Hold a Level 3+ vocational Hair/Beauty qualification, Cert Ed or equivalent, GCSE‑level English and Maths, with strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of the Hair and Beauty industry and management experience.

Experienced FE lecturer with a successful track record in teaching Hair/Beauty, implementing QA processes, developing policies and delivering strategy within Further Education.

Skilled team manager with excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, influencing and decision‑making skills, able to lead staff effectively and maintain high professional standards.

Strong project management, numeracy, IT (including Microsoft Office) and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise, work under pressure, handle confidential data and meet deadlines.

Works in line with TBCG values, maintains appropriate boundaries, manages commercial Brooks activities flexibly (including evenings), travels across campuses and upholds safeguarding, EDI and H&S requirements.
