Position: Athletic Trainer (SY 26-27) (Stipend)
Department: Athletics
Reports to: Principal(s) and the Athletic Director
Affiliation: Unit A, Section F
Salary range: $34,469 stipend
Time Commitment

Six days a week.
Hours per week vary.
Season Length: 8/24/2026 – 6/30/2027
Number of Positions: 2
This is a stipend position.
Job Description

The Athletic Trainer works directly with students and helps maintain, assess, rehabilitate, and evaluate student-athletes' health and other medical conditions. This position is entry-level, with a minimum of 0 to 1 year of experience.
Certifications

Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Commonwealth of MA Licensure (LATC)
First Aid and CPR Certification
Bachelor's Degree from a bachelor's institution, Master's Degree in working with adolescents
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or Athletic Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state licensure requirements.
Good NATA Standing
Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees the operation and maintenance of the Athletic Training Room
Serves as the primary resource for referrals, injury assessment, and on-site attention for student-athletes
Evaluate acute and chronic injuries and refer them when needed
Assists with injury prevention and rehabilitation for student-athletes
Recommends purchase, maintenance, and repair of equipment and supplies as deemed appropriate
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which activity is conducted, or students are located at all times that members are present
Serves as the first responder for all home athletic events when the need for medical attention arises
Follow the communication protocol for student-athletes who sustain injuries
Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality
Serves as site manager for various home athletic events
Other duties, as assigned
Other Knowledge and Skills

The skill of using discretion and independent judgment when providing care
Skill in communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations (Students, families, coaches, colleagues, etc.)
Must be able to work in various degrees of noise, temperature, and environments.
Flexibility and patience are required.
Physical Working Conditions

Work may require long periods of physical activity, such as working with young adults in fitness centers, gymnasiums, and athletic field settings. Sitting, standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, climbing stairs, squatting, kneeling, and moving equipment/furniture may be required. Must be able to push carts and carry athletic training equipment. Must take training kit(s) and coolers for long distances. Must stand for long periods, have good mobility skills, and walk long distances.
