IT Support Technician

Nathan & Nathan is seeking an Entry-Level IT Support Technician to join our in-office IT team with a clearly defined growth path toward a Junior Security Administrator role. This position is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys hands-on support work, structured learning, and wants exposure to cybersecurity operations in a professional services environment. The role is intentionally designed with an 80% focus on core IT support and 20% exposure to security systems, ensuring a strong operational foundation before assuming higher-risk responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary intake point for all IT helpdesk tickets
Accurately document, categorize, and prioritize tickets in Zendesk
Resolve Tier 1 IT support issues, including
Account lockouts and password resets
Hardware setup and basic troubleshooting
Microsoft 365 and Active Directory user support
Escalate Tier 2 issues to senior IT staff when appropriate
Maintain clear communication with end users throughout the support process
Close tickets with complete, professional documentation

User Onboarding & Offboarding

Execute user onboarding and offboarding using established checklists
Provision and deprovision access in:
-Microsoft 365
-Active Directory
-KnowBe4
Coordinate with IT leadership during initial onboarding periods
Ensure all access changes are properly documented

Inventory & Asset Management

Maintain accurate hardware inventory using SnipeIT and PDQ Inventory
Perform weekly inventory checks to ensure:
- Correct user-to-device assignments
- Timely logging of new hardware
- Proper retirement of decommissioned assets
Produce audit-ready inventory logs

Security Exposure & Learning (Guided)

Observe and shadow IT leadership in:
-Vulnerability scanning and remediation (Tenable.io)
-Endpoint protection monitoring (Bitdefender)
-Patch management processes (WSUS)
Learn firm security standards, remediation workflows, and escalation procedures
Participate in guided vulnerability and patch cycles under supervision

Required Qualifications

Basic understanding of IT support fundamentals
Familiarity with Windows operating systems
Willingness to work on-site
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to follow structured processes and checklists

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in cybersecurity or systems administration
Familiarity with ticketing systems and inventory tools

Growth Path
