
CLERK-ATTENDANCE (26-27 SCHOOL YEAR)

JOB GOAL
Responsible for maintaining attendance records to meet district and state requirements while displaying integrity, high standards, quality, and accuracy.
Position Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of clerical experience (preferred)
Duties And Responsibilities
Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.
Ensures that teachers take class attendance for all periods in Skyward as described in the HPS attendance manual.
Ensures the FSP reports are accurate and free of error.
Generates required attendance reports.
Inputs required attendance information into Skyward and verifies that the records are accurate.
Verifies absences by collecting the required documentation from the absent student’s parent/guardian.
Maintains all required documentation in the campus attendance binder.
Checks with the teacher to verify attendance.
Verifies and corrects absences that have been submitted into Skyward by the teacher.
Works closely with each department when input errors occur.
Tracks and communicates consecutive student absences with the necessary staff.
Sends attendance letters, emails and communication to consistently absent students’ parent/guardian.
Prepares a variety of required attendance documentation to submit to administration for truancy cases.
Attends and prepares a variety of required attendance documentation for the quarterly attendance review committee.
Maintains the method of instruction designation for all students in Skyward.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills And Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
Moderate travel is required.
