
Certified Pharmacy Technician evening shift

Job Description
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift position.
Position Purpose
The Certified Pharmacy Tech will assist the pharmacist in assuring timely and accurate provision of medications to patients. Technician responsibilities are performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and may include unit dose dispensing, sterile compounding, non‑sterile compounding, medication packaging, inventory control, record keeping and billing, and use of equipment and automated technology.
What You Will Do
Establish a working identity with our Pharmacy Team and continue to build upon our culture
Follow in-depth, role‑specific training
Prepare sterile products (including chemotherapy) using aseptic technique, in compliance with regulatory standards
Prepare non‑sterile products (including hazardous medication), in compliance with regulatory standards
Repackage bulk oral medication using Parata Systems and Medical Packaging Inc robots
Facilitate medication dispensing via Automated Dispensing Cabinets on our patient care units
Assist in dispensing orders/prescriptions through our pharmacy inventory system
Assist in inventory control by processing daily Pharmacy Department orders; assure proper stock rotation, storage and appropriate expiration dating; elevate medication and non‑medication orders to the Purchasing Team
Assist the department with proper billing of patients and other units
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent
Active registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred
Effective communication skills
Aptitude in mathematical manipulations (ratios, proportions, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions)
A desire to build a career and advance toward a Certified Pharmacy Technician certification
