Job Summary
Texas Business Lenders Group is seeking an experienced

Commercial Loan Underwriter . Based in Fort Worth, we are a Credit Union Service Organization that serves the Member Business Lending functions for multiple credit unions primarily in Texas, including EECU. This full‑time position will be responsible for performing thorough analysis of credit union commercial business loan requests and periodic reviews of existing loans.

Responsibilities

Analyze and underwrite commercial loan requests and supplemental financial information from credit union clients.

Prepare Credit Approval Packages for approval submission, including analysis of Capacity, Capital, Character, Collateral, and Condition, and any other relevant risk factors.

Ensure loan requests comply with lending policy and product specifications, or propose counteroffers as appropriate.

Communicate recommendations (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within the credit union.

Maintain fair lending practices and meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.

Conduct periodic reviews of existing loans, providing updates on payment history, financial performance, and assessment of risk factors and trends.

Assist with special projects related to loan portfolio monitoring and reporting.

Perform compliance with all applicable Federal and State rules and regulations and attend required Bank Secrecy Act training.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field preferred.

Minimum three years of experience in the commercial lending industry, including underwriting, processing, and/or servicing commercial loans.

Experience analyzing tax returns, financial statements, credit reports, and other financial information from individuals and various entity types.

Experience, formal training, or working knowledge of real estate third‑party reports including appraisals, Physical Condition Assessments, and Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments.

Excellent financial analysis skills with strong Excel, financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling experience.

Solid written communication skills.

Experience or training in loan participations, secondary market, and/or SBA lending is helpful but not required.

Compliance with applicable laws, including good credit history and background check (employment, criminal, and drug screen) for EECU.
