Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting troubleshooting, repairing, modifying and maintaining all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control components for both plant production equipment & facilities systems and components. Responsibilities also include maintaining Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer, Catalytic Oxidizer, and Tank Farm equipment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and maintain industrial plant utility systems including Steam and Condensate, Chilled Water, Cooling Water, Hot Oil, HVAC, Compressed Air, Power and other systems.

Focus areas of work include assistance with equipment set-up, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of equipment breakdowns, support of continuous improvement projects, and other duties as assigned by department leadership. Other mechanical related work as assigned.

Understanding of and prior exposure to CMMS platform(s). Must demonstrate computer skill competencies & maintain above average written communication skills necessary to utilize that system and provide detailed information & documentation of Work Orders/PM's/Projects/ and intradepartmental communications.

Must be comfortable accepting responsibility & accountability for providing safe and efficient support in an industrial manufacturing setting. Examples include, but are not limited to execution of daily assignments, maintaining forward progress on both short- & long-term departmental projects & initiatives, etc.

Conducts system inspections and monitors equipment operations/processes to ensure proper operations and to detect equipment failures, potential leaks, or other problem situations; reports maintenance needs to appropriate personnel; performs preventive maintenance checks and procedures on system equipment.

Active participation in shift-hand-off meetings to ensure continuity of work.

Maintains a current knowledge and awareness of applicable industry standards and regulations; maintains an awareness of new trends and advances in the profession; attends workshops and training sessions as assigned and requested.

Overtime required as needed to support production operations.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years in Industrial manufacturing maintenance environment.

Must possess intermediate-level knowledge and understand industrial manufacturing equipment safety, LOTO, 5S, troubleshooting procedures, MRO, automation, and have a desire to continue learning.

Must be competent utilizing PC's and mobile devices for work order retrieval, editing, and closure.

Must be able to work in a team-based work environment

Lift up to 75 lbs. frequently throughout an 8–12-hour shift.

Stand, walk, kneel, squat, and bend frequently to perform daily job functions.

Safely use ladders & mobile stairs to access elevated equipment as needed.

Must be capable of working on equipment that may be in an overhead or below waist level.

Push/pull toolboxes throughout the facility.

Successful candidates will have strengths in the following:

Associates degree or equivalent certifications and experience in Mechatronics, EET, MET, Industrial Maintenance/Automation/Electronics.

Minimum of 3-5 years in Industrial Maintenance/Engineering Environment required. 5-10 years preferred.

Intermediate to advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills, industrial knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and equipment requirements.

Detail oriented & effective problem-solving skills

Demonstrable integrity & work ethic

High level competencies to work both as a team member and individual contributor

Understanding and daily use experience with CMMS(s).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
