POSITION SUMMARY
The Café Supervisor will be leading a team of Café Attendants, as well as being a Café Attendant themselves. They will be in charge of ensuring everything is in working order, and the space is clean and presentable. They will schedule the Café Attendants, and order supplies, flavorings, and coffee. Also, the Supervisor will be responsible for counting cash and tips, and reporting all info to the Café Manager.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the Café and team members to ensure a high-quality guest experience.
Train team members on coffee standards, guest interactions and steps of service.
Place weekly orders with local vendors.
Create weekly hourly schedule in line with the proper staffing levels each day.
Handle daily checkouts.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of Le Café prep and service areas.
Greet customers as they enter, identify their needs and answer questions about menu items.
Take orders while paying attention to details (preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios).
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, chai, frappe etc., following recipes.
Record sales, operate a cash register, and follow cash and credit handling policies as required.
Assist with store set-up, clean-up, and stocking of merchandise.
Complete all required side work, including polishing silverware and glassware, preparing the area for service and proper breakdown.
Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Answer the telephone using appropriate etiquette.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and others.
Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
Responsible for punctuality when reporting to work and clocking in and out.
Work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
All other duties as assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Restaurant or Coffee Shop Supervisor: 1 year (Preferred); Must have a valid Mobile County Health Department Food/Beverage Handler's Card.
Skills:
Minimum one year experience in independent coffee shops.
Expert knowledge of coffee standards and espresso drinks.
Previous leadership or supervisor role in coffee shop or restaurant is preferred.
Ability to multitask.
Cash and credit card handling.
Possess strong communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; push and pull equipment, supplies, etc., at least 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, kneel, squat.
Ability to stand/walk for an 8 hour shift.
Require various physical movements such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping performed safely.
Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle; frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Regularly required to talk and hear. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Must have availability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends and holidays.
Fast paced, high volume atmosphere.
