Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Proficiency in English (per 38 U.S.C. 7403(f)).
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE at the time of completion).
For those in a master's level bridge program, completion of coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
Foreign nursing graduates must hold a current, unrestricted registration and may need degree validation.
Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in the U.S. or territories.
Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) candidates without licensure may be appointed temporarily while pursuing licensure.
Preferred Experience:
1-2 years Med/Surg experience.
Grade Determinations:
Details on education and experience requirements for Nurse I, II, and III levels are provided, including specific qualifications for each grade and related links.
Physical Requirements:
Participation in pre-employment physical examination is required. Specific physical and environmental demands will be addressed during evaluation.
Duties
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on age-specific needs.
Coordinate care focusing on patient education, self-management, and satisfaction across the continuum.
Administer medications and procedures per policies.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes.
Provide evidence-based care with oversight of licensed vocational nurses
ursing assistants.
Lead nursing education, orientation, and quality improvement initiatives.
Partner with patients, families, and teams to ensure safe transitions of care.
