Overview

Summary

This Nurse Recruiter position is located in Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System at the Leeds location and reports to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS). This is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week role. The 2‑page resume requirement does not apply.
Qualifications

English Language Proficiency
In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), all candidates must be proficient in basic written and spoken English.
Graduate of a professional nursing school approved and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
OR Master’s level bridge program in nursing with coursework equivalent to a bachelor’s degree may allow early state licensure.
Upon state license, the candidate may begin on a temporary basis and be converted to a permanent appointment after bridge program completion.
Foreign nursing graduates must have current, full, active, unrestricted registration and an accepted equivalency validation if education exceeds associate degree.
Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception for qualified candidates without licensure; temporary 120‑day appointment with possible extension to two years.

Preferred experience: 2 or more years as a Nurse Recruiter.
BSN required for most roles; additional experience or advanced degrees qualify for higher grades.
Physical requirements: all applicants must be physically able to perform the duties; a pre‑placement physical examination is required.
Duties

Lead, develop, improve, and maintain Recruitment and Retention (RR) programs for nursing staff.
Act as an internal consultant on nursing service programs and resources.
Collaborate with Nursing Leadership and Human Resources to meet staffing needs.
Initiate and maintain staffing databases; assess variances and needs.
Recommend systemic or resource changes to improve workforce utilization.
Forecast staffing needs based on VHA and community trends.
Coordinate VA Staffing Methodology and manage data trending and reporting.
Develop and deliver instructional material on recruitment responsibilities for staff and external partners.
Monitor, analyze, and report on hiring processes and nurse retention.
Search for recruitment opportunities, develop strategies, and lead events such as job fairs and speaking engagements.
Serve as the point of contact and coordinator for Pathways to Excellence Journey.
Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; compressed/flexible schedule may be authorized.
May be authorized telework on an ad‑hoc basis at the supervisor’s discretion.
