Position Summary
The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is seeking 2 Nurse Practitioners—one at the main campus and one at the Bellevue CBOC. The NP will provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the VA mission through advanced clinical practice and consultation, to the full extent of their education, training, and certification.

The NP will provide advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management.
They will practice to the full extent of their education, training, and certification.

The NP has prescriptive authority for a panel of patients or program as indicated by their position.
The NP is a licensed independent practitioner with advanced education and national certification who provides evidence-based care for a population of patients.
Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
Develops and implements individualized plans to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members.
Orders and interprets laboratory, diagnostic, and other tests.
Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
Provides education to patients and their families.
Assesses and adjusts plans of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Supervisory responsibilities are defined by the facility organizational chart and supervisory chain of command.
The incumbent is responsible for self-directed performance of the approved clinical privileges.
Qualifications and Licensure
Full and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license from any US state or territory.
Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) credential, with the ability to practice in Primary Care Services.
Eligibility to participate in the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and ability to submit an EDRP application within four months of appointment.
