
Senior Financial Analyst

Position: Senior Financial Analyst
Responsibilities
Support the Assistant Dean of Finance with responding to financial inquiries from the College sub-units, unit heads, and various University offices. Research commitments and financial information to provide the necessary support for financial reporting.
Responsible for fellow and holder submissions, processing requests from the dean and the departments. Reviewer of all the fellow requests for the college and submits them for the dean's review. Report all fellow requests to the UT Central Development Office and holder requests to the provost's office. Assist in tracking, managing, and funding endowments. Update the endowment database to match university gift and endowment records. Assist with endowment compliance questions and review annual reinvestment for the college. Resolve any endowment deficit balances as needed.
Financial oversight of Service Centers/Self-Supporting Programs within COLA, including fee reviews and program financial feasibility assessments. Work with the appropriate unit managers to ensure billing matches the approved UT rates. Ensure revenue agreements are enforced, and funding is received by the college according to the MOUs.
Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration, assist with financial reporting & other ad hoc reports needed at the college, utilizing tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and spreadsheets. Conduct financial analyses to support the needs of the COLA Dean and the Assistant Dean of Finance. Create financial templates for departments and COLA Dean's office. Communicate and grant access to information/data to meet the needs of finance, HR, and other business staff as appropriate.
Responsible for calculating and distributing Indirect Cost Recovery (ICR)/Facilities & Administrative (F&A) overhead to COLA units and other CSUs. Ensure that the calculations and disbursement methodologies applied are based on the MOUs between colleges. Review the ITS core billing for the college to ensure accounts are correctly billed and update the billing accounts as needed.
Assist in preparing and overseeing the departmental budgets and submitting annual budgets for all departmental accounts according to the rules and regulations of the university. Participate in the merit cycle.
Assist with Workday and various financial document approval during peak seasons.
Other duties & projects as assigned by the dean and the assistant dean of finance and administration.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited institution. At least six years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting with experience in document processing, HR-related tasks, and budget. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential financial information.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting the business and financial operations of a large school or college with multi-million-dollar budgets. Working knowledge of university accounting, endowments, and procurement policies and procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the functionalities of financial accounting and reporting systems. Experience working with FileMaker Pro, Tableau, IBM Cognos, FRMS, Budget document, Workday, VIP Direct, Power BI, and other UT systems.
Salary Range
$80,000 + depending on qualifications
