Role Overview
We are seeking a dependable Project Engineer for the Post Boost Controls (PBCS) hardware Integrated Product Team (IPT) within Lockheed Martin’s Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) organization. The role involves leading component IPT teams, managing cost and schedule baselines, and serving as a technical interface with Navy partners, LM leadership, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and drive technical schedules and execution.
Lead a team in developing a high-profile proposal.
Contribute to new business trade studies and enhance cross‑discipline product development.
Participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development.
Serve as the technical interface to FBM management, systems engineering, quality, and Navy counterparts.
Ensure project meets cost and schedule baseline; provide earned value (EV) performance and EAC assessments.
Identify risks, issues, and opportunities; implement approved risk‑handling plans.
Basic Qualifications
4‑year degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
Experience in project management or financial management, or as a Control Account Manager.
Desired Skills
Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience.
Experience with FBM processes and products.
Experience with aerospace manufacturing.
Experience with propulsion hardware development.
Experience with refractory metals.
Experience as principal engineer delegate or project lead.
Experience with resource estimation & management, component development estimation, project planning, and project management.
Experience with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) initial drafting and baselining.
Experience managing DoD projects with Earned Value Management (EVM) and other DoD requirements.
Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts.
Experience in proposal development: Basis of Estimate (BOE), Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM), & Statement of Work (SOW) generation.
Experience in gas/fluid dynamics or energetics/propellants.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership, and initiative.
Security Clearance Statement
