Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable
TYPE:
6+ month contract
LOCATION:
Onsite. Bellevue, WA.
PAY:
$35-52/hr.

Overview:
Responsible for timely and accurate accounts payable processing, including invoices, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements. This role requires knowledge of GAAP, government regulations (FAR), and experience with ERP systems.
Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounts payable (invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payments)
Review and match invoices to purchase orders; ensure accurate system entry
Prepare journal entries and perform balance sheet reconciliations
Process employee expense reimbursements
Partner with procurement and internal teams to obtain approvals
Identify unallowable costs per government/contract guidelines
Maintain vendor records; resolve invoice discrepancies
Monitor AP aging and maintain accurate records
Record sales and use tax as needed
Support audits and ensure compliance with policies
Assist with process improvements and ERP system updates
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of high-volume accounts payable experience
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Cloud preferred)
Knowledge of government contracts/grants is a plus
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
