
Clinical Nurse II - 2 North Acute Care Unit (Full Time, Day)

Job Description
At NorthBay Health, the Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. The RN, utilizing Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization.
Education
Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing. Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required.
License and Certifications
Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California.
Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS.
Must have Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment.
National nursing certification is preferred.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Six months acute care RN experience required (One full year of skilled nursing care, Long Term Acute Care, or Acute Rehabilitation is equivalent to six months of acute care experience).
One year of Medical/Surgical RN experience highly preferred.
Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to Medical/Surgical/Telemetry level patients.
Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Other
All RNs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to wear graphite (dark gray) colored scrubs per the professional appearance policy.
Work Hours
FTE: 0.9 (Full Time)
Schedule: 36 hours weekly.
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts.
