Position Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic Helper supports the maintenance and production teams by starting, monitoring, and assisting with production equipment. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to gain experience in food manufacturing and industrial maintenance.
Available Shifts
1st Shift: Tuesday– Saturday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: Tuesday – Saturday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
Start up and shut down production machines according to procedures
Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper performance
Assist maintenance mechanics with basic repairs and preventive maintenance
Respond to minor equipment issues and escalate when needed
Keep work areas clean and organized
Follow all safety procedures (PPE, LOTO awareness)
Support production needs and communicate issues to supervisors
Follow all GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude or interest in hands-on work
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong reliability and attention to detail
Preferred (Not Required)
Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments
Basic knowledge of tools or machinery
Interest in growing into a Maintenance Mechanic role
Additional Requirements
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify required)
Ability to commute or relocate to Laurel, MD
