The mission of the Secretary of State’s office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana’s elections and preserves, presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana’s operations and its recorded history.

The Louisiana State Archives – Imaging and Preservation Section is seeking a well‑organized, self‑motivated individual for a part‑time role handling sensitive documents and archival materials. Responsibilities
Digital Imaging

Responsible for the conversion of archival materials using scanning and photography equipment.

Careful handling of fragile items, using best practices.

Ensuring scans meet quality standards.

Tracking scanning progress.

Troubleshooting basic scanning or PC issues.

Microfilming

Performs document processing to remove adhesives and metals, using best practices.

Converts paper documents into electronic images for storage and retrieval by scanning documents using an imaging system.

Conducts quality assurance of scanned images, and takes appropriate steps to correct any errors or misreads.

Develops microfilm.

Training will be provided.

Classified WAE – THIS IS A PART‑TIME WAE POSITION. IF HIRED, THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF HOURS WILL BE 1,245 PER 12‑MONTH PERIOD.
