Overview
Mesilla Valley Transportation is hiring a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst will be responsible for managing the relationship between the IT team and the business unit they are supporting. They are focused on improving the customer experience by gathering feedback from stakeholders and working to develop a clear strategy for improvement.
Responsibilities
Analyze procurement spend, vendor performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities
Support sourcing activities, RFQs, and vendor evaluations
Monitor procurement KPIs (cost, compliance, cycle time)
Track contracts, renewals, and assist in vendor negotiations
Develop financial reports for budgets, forecasts, and spend analysis
Reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and payments
Identify cost variances and provide actionable insights
Improve procurement and finance processes; drive efficiency and automation
Maintain data accuracy and reporting systems, build dashboards
Act as liaison between Procurement, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or related field (preferred).
Two (2) years of relevant experience (Preferred). An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
One (1) year of transportation and/or logistics experience (preferred).
Experience in an agile delivery environment a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
Basic understanding of business intelligence tools, databases, and software such as SQL, Excel, PowerBI, and other data analysis tools.
Basic understanding of business analysis principles and methodologies.
