Build the Workforce Powering Kelso Industries
Kelso Building Services, part of Kelso Industries, is looking for hands‑on, people‑focused, energetic Construction & Skilled Trades Recruiter to help grow our field workforce. You’ll mainly support hiring for construction-related trades such as Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP+), and you may occasionally assist with basic professional or technical roles when needed. These recruiters play an important role in helping our operating companies find reliable, skilled workers who keep projects moving.
This role is
hybrid , with a strong preference for candidates who can work from our
Draper, UT
office.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Recruiting & Sourcing
Post and maintain job openings across job boards and sourcing platforms
Conduct high-volume outbound outreach (calls, texts, emails) to engage trades candidates
Source talent through local job boards, referrals, community events, trade networks, etc.
Review applications and reach out to qualified candidates
Build and maintain simple talent lists or pipelines for roles we hire frequently
Adjust sourcing and outreach methods based on what works best in each local area
Hiring Partnership & Employer Brand Activation
Partner closely with hiring managers about open roles and candidate progress
Clarify job requirements and understand what type of candidate is needed
Assist in writing or updating job postings so they're clear and appealing
Represent Kelso at career fairs, job events, and community outreach activities
Promote Kelso's brand and values when speaking with candidates and community partners
Process, Metrics & Candidate Experience
Provide a friendly, organized experience for every candidate
Schedule interviews, send reminders, and keep candidates informed
Keep all information accurate and up to date in Greenhouse (our ATS)
Track basic recruiting data like number of applicants and effective sourcing channels
Suggest small improvements to help make the hiring process smoother and faster
Hiring Execution & Support
Assist with background checks, reference checks, and pre‑employment steps
Help prepare and send job offers
Manage multiple open roles while staying organized and timely
Step in to support professional or office roles when needed
What You'll Bring (Required Qualifications)
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
1+ years of recruiting experience supporting construction, skilled trades, industrial, manufacturing, or field-based roles (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, installation, maintenance, etc.)
Comfort speaking directly with hourly, non-corporate candidates
Willingness to pick up the phone, follow up consistently, and close candidates in competitive labor markets
Experience using an ATS or similar system (Greenhouse preferred)
Strong communication and partnership skills
Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
Willingness to travel locally or regionally for hiring events, site visits, and meetings
