Job Summary
Full Time, Nights. Up to $15,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.
Position Summary
The RN provides high quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI and Infection Control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
Responsibilities
Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
Reports to work in proper uniform or attire.
Leaves for meal break on time and returns on time.
Varies work schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Ensures all overtime has been approved by the department head before working.
Schedules all time off with supervisor’s approval.
Strictly adheres to hospital attendance/tardiness policies 100% of the time.
Wears I.D. badge in a visible location at all times on hospital property.
Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for information communicated at meetings.
Attends all hospital mandatory in‑services on a timely basis as scheduled.
Participates as an active team member at staff meetings.
Reads communications and acts upon them in a positive and informative manner.
Is an active participant in assigned Performance Improvement meetings.
Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
Reads and comprehends the company’s Standards of Conduct; demonstrates compliance with the company’s Ethics program.
Has participated in one hour of Standards of Conduct training within the last 12 months.
Understands that compliance with the Corporate Integrity Program is a condition of employment and that violations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Maintains confidentiality regarding patient, employee, facility and corporate information 100% of the time.
Follows Infection Control procedures at all times.
Clinical Personnel
Strictly adheres to Standard Precautions and uses personal protective equipment when handling blood or bodily fluids.
Washes hands and other skin surfaces with soap and water thoroughly and immediately if contaminated with blood or other bodily fluids, before and after patient contact.
Disposes of sharps in puncture‑resistant needle boxes.
All healthcare workers who participate in invasive procedures routinely use appropriate barrier precautions: wear gloves, goggles and surgical masks.
All specimens of blood and bodily fluids are placed in a well‑constructed container with a secure lid to prevent leaking during transport. Specimen containers are placed in a biohazard‑coded plastic bag for transportation.
Adheres to isolation procedures and techniques at all times as applicable.
Adheres to environmental care standards.
Demonstrates adequate knowledge of Safety Policies and Procedures, use of MSDS sheets, Hazardous Material procedures and Safety Codes.
Demonstrates knowledge of Security issues, i.e., personal protection, protection of personnel and hospital property.
Adapts to varied age‑specific patient populations.
Qualifications
Education: Minimum – Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure. Preferred – BSN.
Experience: Prior clinical experience in area of expertise preferred.
Required certification/licensure/registration:
Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida.
BLS, ACLS, Basic EKG, critical care course and/or emergency care course that includes critical care didactic.
Other qualifications:
PALS within six (6) months.
TNCC within one year – Trauma Resus and TICU only (optional for TSD).
ENPC within one year – Trauma Resus only (optional for TICU and TSD).
CCRN, TCRN preferred.
