IOP Transition Representative – Hartford, CT (Mon–Fri, rotating weekends)
Pay range: $26.42–$29.20 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications, as well as market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities
Provide effective on‑boarding services for new IOP clients and their phlebotomists
Ensure clients and phlebotomists are trained on test ordering processes and office protocols
Resolve any TIQ or TNP issues and provide feedback to clients
Ensure client set‑up is completed before go‑live (supplies, connectivity, workstation, etc.)
Takes initiative to resolve issues or escalates to appropriate manager
Train, coach, and provide input on performance evaluation of phlebotomists; assist in rollout of new policies and procedures
Greet patients appropriately and treat all clients and patients courteously
Ensure all field phlebotomy and IOP specimens are collected accurately and on time according to established procedures
Accurately complete requisitions; meet with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify tests, obtain billing information (diagnosis codes, UPIN, etc.)
Research test and client information using lab computer system or Directory of Service
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
Package specimens for transport
Assist in relocating, opening new facilities, and maintaining required records and documentation
Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, manuals, and procedures (Procedure Manual, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile policies, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual)
Maintain all PSC/Phlebotomy logs
Assist in compiling monthly statistics and data; submit on time
Perform basic clerical duties (filing, faxing, mail preparation); perform electronic data entry
Submit accurate time and travel logs
Submit accurate expense forms when required
Adhere to departmental and company grooming, dress, and lab coat policies
Report on time; follow attendance guidelines
Answer telephone courteously, using company name and self‑identification
Communicate all unresolved problems immediately to appropriate manager or supervisor
Keep work area neat and dispose of biohazard containers as scheduled
Perform other departmental clerical duties as assigned
Answer phone and dispatch calls when assigned
Participate on team projects when asked
Ensure facilities are neat, clean, and in good repair; advise of required repairs
Assist with inventory counts; report shortages
Work effectively with staff to ensure compliance with dress code, EHS, QA, customer service, and SOPs; advise supervisor of issues
Communicate professionally with clients and patients to resolve or refer issues; document and report critical problems
Assist supervisors in implementing SOPs for phlebotomy services per Quest Diagnostics guidelines
Act as mentor and resource for new employees, assisting transition into PSC work environment
Assist in distributing technical information and communication to the work group
Assist in preparing schedules for the assigned work group or PSCs
Travel may be required to in‑office phlebotomy or multiple locations
Work cross‑functionally with sales and client services organizations
Make decisions based on established procedures; exercise good judgment and seek supervisor guidance when appropriate
Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
At least 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric venipuncture, and capillary collections
Minimum 2 years as a phlebotomist in a Patient Service Center environment
Keyboard/data‑entry application experience
Customer service experience in a service environment
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record
Preferred Work Experience:
Leadership experience
Physical and Mental Requirements
Position requires travel
Flexible and available per staffing requirements; weekends, holidays, overtime, and occasional on‑call duties (weekends, evenings, early morning)
Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
May require extended periods of focus, sitting, or standing
Ability to manage stress
Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting
Knowledge
Knowledge of medical terminology
Familiarity and compliance with all protocols, practices, and procedures of the Field Services Department
