12‑hour days (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM), rotating weekends (4 days per 4-week schedule period)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Active RN license (Texas or compact state) — must be eligible to practice in TX

Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU, cardiac ICU, or cardiac step‑down nursing experience

Device competencies/experience preferred: ECMO, RVAD/LVAD, Impella, IABP, CRRT/Dialysis (ECMO RN and LVAD RN experience highly desired)

Open heart recovery and post‑op CABG/Valve experience preferred

Strong critical care assessment, clinical judgment, and independent problem‑solving skills

Comfortable with staff‑to‑staff accountability and receiving constructive feedback

Documentation experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Uniform Requirement: Scrub color – Navy Blue

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a 14‑bed CVICU with nurse‑to‑patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, depending on acuity

Manage and monitor advanced cardiovascular devices including ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, Impella, IABP, and CRRT/Dialysis

Care for patients recovering from CABG, valve surgery, ECMO cannulation, and other complex cardiac procedures

Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring, medication titration, and post‑op cardiac assessments

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiothoracic surgeons, perfusionists, cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and case management) to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech EMR and adhere to hospital policies and standards of care

Participate in unit teamwork, quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to a positive, supportive clinical environment
