Primary Role
The Audio Video Technician (AV Tech) is responsible for complete installation of audio-visual solutions for our clients. This includes cable pulls, terminations, rack building, mounting, installing and troubleshooting various networked AV equipment. All work must meet the highest standards set forth by the client while ensuring a safe and professional work environment. Work conditions vary from classrooms to construction sites (PPE required). This is a full‑time position with some shift work, frequent travel within Texas, and possible overtime. Most work is performed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Technician Responsibilities

Maintain a professional attitude with an emphasis on safety and customer service.

Communicate with customers, team members, and stakeholders in a timely, courteous manner.

Read and interpret blueprints, line drawings, and construction documents.

Move product and tools to and from job sites.

Install, terminate, test, and label audio/video/data cables.

Mount, rig, and secure equipment as specified.

Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment frequently.

Build and test equipment racks.

Load/install software, code, and firmware on DSPs, control systems, and other devices.

Use cable testers, multimeters, and other tools to test, calibrate, and troubleshoot cabling and equipment.

Remove trash and clean job site daily.

Complete time and expense sheets daily.

Comply with all safety programs of the company and customers.

Complete required training programs from manufacturers, industry associations, and the company.

Track, manage, and secure equipment and tools.

Keep vehicles organized, stocked, and properly maintained.

Travel to and from job sites daily; some trips may require overnight stays.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements: a high school diploma or GED, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn. Successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and driving safety evaluation is required. At least 2 years of experience installing audio/video systems or other low‑voltage systems such as satellite, infrastructure cabling, fiber, security, life safety, or related telecommunications systems.

Physical, Mental And Environmental Requirements

Regularly push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lb., occasionally heavier items.

Frequently drive, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, sit, and use hands and fingers.

Read color diagrams and drawings.

Climb ladders and work on lifts and scaffolding.

Work in dusty environments.

Ambient noise level is usually moderate.

Accountability
The Audio Video Technician reports to the AV Field Installation Manager. Secondary accountability is to other members of the management team, employees, and company customers.
