A well-established Personal Injury law firm located in Downtown Manhattan is seeking a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Attorney with at least 3 years of experience handling New York workers’ compensation cases. This role involves managing cases from intake through resolution while providing expert representation and legal counsel to clients in a fully in-office environment.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of New York workers’ compensation matters from intake through resolution
Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and trials before the Workers’ Compensation Board
Develop case strategy, including evaluating claims, negotiating settlements, and preparing for litigation
Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, and insurance carriers
Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements
Stay current on New York workers’ compensation laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school
Active New York bar admission
Minimum of 3 years of New York workers’ compensation experience (plaintiff-side preferred)
Strong knowledge of NY Workers’ Compensation Board procedures
Excellent negotiation, litigation, and communication skills
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
