The ideal candidate will manage a caseload of workers compensation claims, represent employers and insurers at hearings and depositions, prepare pleadings and motions, and negotiate favorable settlements. This role requires strong litigation experience, excellent legal writing and communication skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple matters to achieve timely, cost-effective outcomes for clients.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a diverse caseload of workers compensation defense matters from intake through resolution, including administrative hearings and trial
and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court and agency documents; conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal memoranda.Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences; develop case strategy and provide clear legal advice to clients.Conduct discovery, review medical and employment records, and oversee preparation of experts and witness testimony.Negotiate settlements with claimants, opposing counsel, and insurers to achieve favorable and cost-effective resolutions.Work collaboratively with claims handlers, adjusters, and colleagues to coordinate case strategy and client
organized case files, track deadlines, manage documentation, and ensure timely billing and reporting.Participate in business development efforts and maintain professional relationships within the workers compensation community. QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.1+ years of litigation experience with a focus on workers compensation defense preferred.Proven experience with workers compensation law, hearings before state agencies, depositions, and trial
legal writing skills with experience drafting pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills; comfortable advocating in hearings and
organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.Familiarity with case management systems, legal research tools, and Microsoft Office; accurate billing and record-keeping practices.Professional demeanor, sound judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to client service.Willingness to travel to hearings and depositions as required.
