
Legal Assistant - Litigation

Skinner Law Firm is a fast‑paced, client‑focused plaintiffs’ law firm seeking a highly organized Litigation Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys in our Consumer Rights Litigation Department. This role is essential to ensuring seamless scheduling, reliable communication, and professional coordination with clients, courts, and legal service providers. Success in this position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to anticipate needs in a busy litigation environment.
Responsibilities
Schedule and coordinate attorney calendars, including depositions, mediations, and client preparation sessions.
Reserve conference rooms and send timely confirmation and reminder emails.
Identify and flag scheduling conflicts or deadline‑related issues.
Arrange travel accommodations, including transportation and lodging.
Communication & Client Interaction
Serve as a reliable point of contact for logistics and case‑related updates.
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other case-related contacts.
Administrative & Case Support
Scan, copy, and enter data to manage digital case files.
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
Prepare cover letters and simple form correspondence.
Maintain communication records.
Growth Opportunities
Trial preparation logistics (binders, exhibits, subpoenas).
Draft routine discovery scheduling notices or subpoenas.
Update internal calendars and docketing systems.
Support compliance with court scheduling orders and pre‑trial requirements.

Proactive communication.
Well‑maintained filing systems and reliable deadline tracking.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Tech‑savvy and capable of learning new systems.
Able to work independently.
Able to anticipate attorneys' needs.
Experience in a legal office. (preferred but not required)
Familiarity with litigation processes. (preferred but not required)
Experience with Calendly and Filevine. (preferred but not required)
Compensation: $18 hourly
