Recruiting and Academic Advising Specialist

Position Summary
Recruiting and Academic Advising Specialist is a full‑time position reporting to the Director of Online Programs in the Bryan School of Business and Economics. The primary areas of responsibility are recruiting potential online students into the Bryan School, including at both virtual and in‑person events; providing pre‑admission advising to online students; and advising enrolled online campus students in the Bryan School.

Responsibilities

Participate in recruitment activities, including responding quickly to email and web inquiries, presenting at virtual information sessions, presenting at on‑campus school and university transfer student events, and engaging in post‑event follow‑up with prospective students from all types of events, including evening and weekend commitments.

Engage with prospective students to encourage and assist them through the application process.

Assist prospective undergraduate students with understanding transfer requirements, major selection, financial aid and scholarship applications, and other pre‑enrollment issues to ensure a smooth transition.

Assist enrolled online undergraduate students with course selection, pathway planning, academic goal setting, and development.

Assist with first‑year and transfer new student orientations, as well as participate in advising and registration sessions for returning and readmitted students each semester.

Utilize technology to communicate with students in the most effective ways.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Business, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited four‑year college or university OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution and a minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to student recruitment or student advising in a higher education setting.

Proven experience working with diverse populations in a higher education setting.

Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Business, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited four‑year college or university.

Experience working with online students and student recruitment.

Bilingual in Spanish.

Proficient computer skills – MS Office, Ellucian BANNER, Slate, and Canvas.

Salary
Recruitment Range: $46,500.
