Job Title: CMM Programmer (Camio)
Job Description
The CMM Programmer is responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance with aerospace standards through inspection planning, CMM programming, and first article validation. This role supports production, engineering, and customer requirements by applying strong knowledge of GD&T, AS9102, and precision measurement techniques in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, program, and optimize CMM inspection routines using Camio software to support production and engineering needs.

Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications with a strong understanding of GD&T to ensure accurate inspection criteria.

Perform and oversee First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements to validate new and revised parts.

Generate, review, and maintain complete FAI packages, including ballooned drawings, inspection reports, and supporting documentation.

Create and maintain detailed inspection plans, work instructions, and quality documentation for repeatable and consistent inspections.

Analyze inspection data, identify trends or deviations, and provide clear feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams.

Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for nonconforming products to prevent recurrence.

Collaborate closely with manufacturing and design teams to improve product quality, manufacturability, and inspection efficiency.

Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards, including AS9100 and NADCAP where applicable.

Maintain awareness of calibration requirements and ensure proper use, care, and handling of all inspection equipment.

Assist with internal and external audits by providing inspection records, FAI documentation, and evidence of compliance.

Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection methods, measurement strategies, and quality processes within the organization.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or equivalent experience.

3+ years of experience in an aerospace quality or inspection role.

Hands‑on experience programming CMMs using Camio software.

Strong proficiency in GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5.

Solid understanding of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.

Proficiency with inspection tools such as CMMs, height gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace drawings and CAD models.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and quality documentation systems.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities applied to quality and inspection challenges.

High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy in measurements and documentation.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.

Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems and associated requirements.

Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.

Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and product quality.

Comfort working with structured quality documentation and audit requirements.

Work Environment
This role operates within an aerospace CNC machine shop that focuses on high‑precision components and strict quality standards. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, using CMMs, Camio software, precision measurement tools, and CAD and ERP/MRP systems in a hands‑on, technical environment. The setting combines office‑based programming and documentation work with time spent on the shop floor near CNC machines and inspection equipment, requiring a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and adherence to established procedures.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
