
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician

This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to support safe and efficient operations. This posting is intended to fill either an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or an Industrial Electrician role, depending on candidate qualifications and trade classification.
Employees will perform work within their respective union trade (mechanical or electrical) in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Key Responsibilities based on each trade
For Industrial Maintenance Mechanics (Mechanical Work)
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems including conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and rotating equipment
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Perform equipment alignments, installations, and mechanical rebuilds
Conduct welding, fabrication, and basic machining as needed
Diagnose mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
For Industrial Electricians (Electrical Work)
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and control circuits
Install, wire, and test electrical equipment and components
Work with 480V, 3‑phase power systems and motor controls
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and prints
Support automation systems and assist with PLC troubleshooting
For Both Roles
Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks
Respond to equipment breakdowns and support timely repairs
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and OSHA standards
Accurately document maintenance activities and work performed
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability
Qualifications
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Welding and fabrication experience preferred
Experience in industrial electrical maintenance
Two‑year electrical degree or equivalent industrial electrical experience required
Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, electrical troubleshooting, and industry standards
Strong knowledge of motor controls, PLCs, and electrical systems
General Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Trade school or military background is a plus
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation relevant to trade
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work 12‑hour rotating day or night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Must pass a pre‑employment background check, physical, and drug screen
