Position 1: 534 2nd Avenue, Collegeville, PA – Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM–1:30 PM, Saturday 6:00 AM–11:00 AM (at Collegeville)
Position 2: 420 Egypt Rd, Audubon, PA – Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 AM–2:00 PM, Saturday 6:00 AM–11:00 AM (at Collegeville)
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection, while assisting with troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvement in a high-volume clinical environment.
Background & Context
This is an interim assignment to support extended lab hours. While there is potential for conversion based on performance, there is currently
no confirmed conversion opportunity .
Key Responsibilities
Perform blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and processing.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly to patients.
Demonstrate proficiency with straight and butterfly needles.
Review and understand physician orders and lab requisitions.
Match requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.
Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens for transport.Maintain specimen integrity with proper storage and handling protocols.
Ensure 100% accuracy when verifying test requisitions and labels.
Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend required training sessions.
Handle calls and respond to lab-related inquiries.
Perform approximately
50 draws per day
in a team-based setting.
Qualifications & Experience
Valid Phlebotomy Certification (if required by state)
Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting
2-4 years of overall experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Required Skills
Strong phlebotomy skills
Comfortable working in a team environment
Pediatric & Geriatric drawing experience required
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Early morning shifts with Saturday rotation
High-volume, team-based environment
Color vision screening required
TB screening required
Additional Information
Interim coverage while lab hours are extended
Hiring Manager prefers 1-2 years of experience
Pediatric & Geriatric experience required
Lab Assistant experience is a plus (not mandatory)
