
Donor Center Phlebotomist

Overview
Join the American Red Cross and contribute to lifesaving blood collection at fixed site locations. You will utilize healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process, collaborate with your team to create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and follow safety procedures to ensure donations can be safely transfused to hospitals. Paid phlebotomy training is provided with opportunities to grow your healthcare skills and career within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Take time to personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so donors feel comfortable returning.
Be detail-oriented to ensure the blood collected meets goals, regulatory requirements, and safety standards for transfusion.
Schedule and Pay
Standard schedule may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance.
Starting pay: $21.33/hour.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree or a combination of education and work experience required.
Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a public setting required.
Current, valid drivers license with good driving record required.
Physical ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights; manual dexterity; ability to sit or stand for long periods; and willingness to adapt to long, irregular hours and schedule changes.
Basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (e.g., CNA, MA, EMT).
Prior leadership experience.
